A web tool to upload a whole tree (files + directories : photos, videos, programs, etc) from your visitor's disk to your server.

The main goal of my uploader is photos/videos sharing, as it embeds Albulle.vOM to display the uploaded tree. But it becomes very useful when dealing with movies or large files simple sharing.

The motivation is : "how can I make people send me their photos and videos after a common event ? And even share it with all participants if they want ?"

1. by USB key : OK, but... by postal mail, back and forth ?
2. by email : nowadays, photos take 1 to 5MB, and videos take hundreds MB. An email accepts 4 to 10MB.
3. by file sharing services : OK, but they upload only limited file-sizes, at limited speed, for a limited time, or require funding. Plus you don't know in which hand your files arrive...

Therefore, I built a tool that is embedded in an upload page, easily accessible on a URL even by novices, and that requires no installation (java applet). Main features :

1. It optionnaly asks for a destination name. And a box where files and directories can be either selected or dropped from the explorer ! The initial hierarchy from the visitor's disk will be recreated on the server on a destination-name subdirectory with the files at their right place.
2. The upload is done chunk by chunk for each file, to ensure that no server limit will block the upload. A progress meter is shown for each file and globally, with an ETA. The upload can be stopped at any time, and resumed days after.
3. The visitor can skip or re-enable a file in the list.
4. The visitor can browse the created tree and check (embedded Albulle.vOM) that all files are here.
5. The site owner receives emails when a destination is created with the URL, when the upload is finished, and in-between if the amount of data becomes very large.
6. The created URL is not visible and hard to guess, which makes the uploaded files visible only to the ones knowing the URL.
7. Fully secured, no risk to execute remote code.
8. The integration with Albulle.vOM, OMdownload, and OMzip allows to download the uploaded tree on the visitor's disks.
9. automatic Multi-lingual

The software can run on any visitor platform running java. The server must only run PHP, no other restrictions : it runs on a shared OVH, and even on Free.fr "pages perso" !

My software has been used since 2007 by my relatives, and as a way to publish videos on a public blog.
